Back at work!
A lot has happened in the last week and a bit! I went back to work after a 5-day long weekend! My Princess' also had her first day of Grade Three in her new school. Yes, Grade Three, instead of Grade Two... it's a long story.
On the health front....I took up a 5-day free pass and actually started to use it! I have 40 kilograms to lose, so I have sent a target to be 65kgs 1 year...I can so do that!
Being back at work was a nice dose of normality. It was lovely to speak to all of my colleagues. They were wonderfully supportive, and I was actually more productive today than I have been for months!
On the home front, I am nesting again! Bustling about here and there, making this corner neater, or this corner more organized, buying more things, making lists and ticking them off. I pride myself on being extremely thrifty when it comes to material possessions.
I bought a 2 & 3 seater sofa off Gumtree for $150 - what a comfy find! It was, however, extremely difficult to get it home! I managed to get them both in the van, then poor mum had to help me get them out again! It was extremely difficult! Did I need a man to help? Turns out no...however it would have been a lot easier if I had one!!!! Guess I'll add "Strong" to my list of qualities I'm looking for in my next potential partner!
The other purchase this week was Princess' IKEA loft bed and a new mattress for $300. I consider myself to be pretty handy, however, the loft bed did push my boundaries! It took 3-hours to put it together!!!! Crazy! Princess was super helpful though. She picked up screws for me, held up bars while I screwed them in, put calming relaxing music on when I felt like I was going to explode with frustration! I don't look forward to moving the bed one bit!!!! The pay off though was the best night sleep I have had in Queensland so far!
What started like an emotionally draining activity sorting out my new 6m x 6m studio apartment (aka mum's garage!) it turned into a magical time passerby and has given me an abundance of determination to make this move successful.
On the finance front, as a single mum, with no child support and full-time custody....sometimes financial freedom is a pipedream, however, Scott Pape - The Barefoot Investor (which I listened to for free from the local library), has given me hope. For the first time ever, my finances are on autopilot, bills are getting paid, debt is on track to being paid off within 18 months and my home loan deposit is also starting to creep up (albeit very slowly).
